Police: Robbers rip off NE side cash store

Man with gun grabs cash, accomplice waits in car, police say

SAN ANTONIO - A gun-carrying robber ripped off a northeast side cash store Saturday while an accomplice waited outside in their getaway van, according to authorities.

Investigators said a man walked into the Cash Zone store in the 12000 block of Perrin Beitel just before 11:30 a.m.

He pulled a gun and demanded cash, police said.

Police said the store employee handed the money over and the robber ran to a white van waiting outside. Then the armed robber and the getaway driver took off on Perrin Beitel, police said.

Officers searched the area on the ground and from a police chopper, but said they could not find any sign of the robbery team.

No word on how much cash the robber got.

Police are now searching for him and his accomplice.
