San Antonio police: Woman may have been at center of dispute
SAN ANTONIO - Brothers Paul Garcia and Gus Garcia are facing charges of aggravated assault for an alleged attack on their own cousin. According to San Antonio police, the brothers beat, kicked, cut and shot their 27-year-old cousin after a dispute.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the victim had to be flown to a hospital following the Oct. 23 incident.
The affidavit stated that Paul Garcia, 27, and his cousin each have a child by the same woman.
The affidavit stated that Garcia called his cousin in October, threatening to kill him, the cousin’s son and the mother of both their children.
The cousin told police he rushed over to the woman’s home and confronted Garcia, who pointed a gun at him.
After a brief struggle during which Garcia dropped the gun, Garcia left the home.
The affidavit stated that he returned later with his brother, Gus Garcia, 22, and the two then beat and kicked their cousin.
Paul Garcia is also accused of cutting the victim with a knife, while Gus Garcia is accused of shooting him in the head.
The brothers were booked into jail Saturday with bond set for each at $75,000.
