Man wanted in armed battery theft

Police hope public may recognize accused robber

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying a robbery suspect.

Police investigators said the man in the photo is wanted for a robbery of the Dollar General at 1507 Pleasanton Road on Nov. 24.

Police say the suspect walked into the store and grabbed several packages of batteries from the display case by the cash register and ran out the store.

A clerk chased after the thief and demanded that he return the batteries.

Investigators say the man then lifted up his shirt in an attempt to display a weapon, but the weapon had slid down the suspect's pants.

The robber then bent over and pulled out a .38 caliber revolver.

The clerk became afraid and ran back into the store.

According to witnesses, the suspect got in a small white car with dark, tinted windows.

Crime stoppers will pay up to $5,000 dollars for information, leading to an arrest.
