Billy Tran charged with capital murder in shooting deaths of Robert, Beatriz Snyder

Bond for Billy Tran, 50, set at $1 million

SAN ANTONIO - The man accused of shooting a couple to death at a Northeast Side home has been formally charged with capital murder. Billy Tran, 50, remained jailed Friday morning on a $1 million bond.

Tran is accused in the shooting deaths of Robert and Beatriz Snyder Wednesday night at their home in the 15200 block of Spring Mist.

Police say Robert Snyder opened the door for Tran and was shot in the doorway while Beatriz Snyder was shot inside the home.

The Snyder's 20-year-old daughter fled through an upstairs window. A third man fought Tran and was able to wrestle the gun away from him.

San Antonio police said Tran was upset about being forced out of a business partnership with Snyder, and cited that as a possible motive for the crime.
