Couple wearing wigs rob San Antonio Petro Truck Stop, shoot clerk
Suspects believed to have robbed Church's chicken earlier, remain at-large
SAN ANTONIO - A man and a woman armed with guns barged into a truck stop and shot the clerk during a robbery late Thursday night.
The suspects targeted the Petro Truck Stop in the 1100 block Ackerman Road around 9:30 p.m.
San Antonio police said the suspects entered the store wearing red wigs. They held up the female clerk at gunpoint, opened fire and fled with an unknown amount of cash.
Lt. Scott Bell with the San Antonio Police Department said the clerk was following the male suspect's orders and was shot for no apparent reason. She was taken to hospital in serious condition but was expected to recover, San Antonio police said.
Police believe the pair robbed a Church's Fried Chicken on Zarzamora earlier in the evening. Shots were fired during that robbery, but nobody was shot. The suspects remained at-large as of Friday morning.
