HEB Feast of Sharing draws thousands
SAN ANTONIO - Christmas music filled the air at the Henry B.Gonzalez Convention Center Saturday as about 15,000 people gathered for the annual HEB Feast of Sharing.
"Just to see everyone get together as a community, and the Christmas spirit. It's wonderful," Veronica Stanley said.
More than 2,000 people pitched in to help cook and serve dinner, including a group of young softball players from the Texas Legends, a
youth softball team.
But probably the most touching was a group of 40 airmen and women from the 433th Alamo Wing out of Lackland Airforce Base.
Men and women who've already given so much gave more to their community Saturday.
"I always try and contribute to the community," April Carrillo said.
