Suspected drunk driver causes NW Side collision

Driver charged with intoxication assault in crash on Braun Road at Loop 1604

SAN ANTONIO - A driver suspected of driving drunk was arrested after San Antonio police said she slammed into another car on the far Northwest Side.

Officers responded to the crash on Braun Road at 1604 around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police said the crash was caused by someone who ran a red light at the intersection, but police were still investigating who was at fault.

Two women were inside one of the vehicles. The driver was charged with intoxication assault and taken to University Hospital for a mandatory blood draw.

Her passenger was flown to the hospital in critical condition.

San Antonio police said a man, woman and small child were in the other vehicle. All three were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
