Man shot at detained after yelling obscenities at officers

SAPD: Man not cooperative, detained during investigation

An East Side man who was reportedly fired at was later detained after San Antonio police said he began to yell obscenities at them while they were questioning him about the shooting.

Gunshots were reported just after 5 p.m. Sunday at the corner of New Braunfels and Blue Bonnet.

Officers responded and began to question a 25-year-old man who said he was shot at, however, the man refused to give officers any information about the shooting.

Investigators said the man then began to yell at officers and was detained, then placed in the back of a patrol car.

Sgt. Tina Jones of the San Antonio Police Department said investigators had no idea why the man was not cooperative, and he was detained so officers could gather information about the shooting.

San Antonio police would not say if the man would face any charges. No one was reportedly injured despite more than a dozen shots being fired, San Antonio police said.
