Suspect believed to have robbed up 4 NE Side businesses Thursday night
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Police are trying to track down a robbery suspect who they believe may be responsible for up to four businesses robberies on the Northeast Side.
The first holdup happened around 8 p.m. at the P and B Grocery Mart located in the 5900 Block of Rittiman Road.
Sgt. Arthur Casas said the suspect walked in and pointed a black hand gun at the clerk and demanded money.
The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black shorts and had a black bandana covering his face.
The suspect fled from the store with the money and got into a getaway vehicle that was waiting nearby but was not seen by any witnesses.
About 15 minutes later, a Chevron gas station located at the corner of Montgomery Road and Melbury Forest was robbed at gun point.
A suspect fitting the same description at the first armed robbery walked into the store, pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded money.
The clerk complied and the suspect took off behind the store where it's believed he got into another car.
A third robbery was then reported in the 6000 block of O'Connor Road and a fourth in the 4400 block of Rittiman Road. Police said the suspect in both those cases fit a description of the previous holdups.
Detectives received word late Thursday the suspect was spotted by a witness fleeing in a white or cream colored Ford pickup truck. No injuries were reported in any of the robberies.
