Convicted sex offender Gianni Hamilton accused of attacking another woman in Alamo Heights
Police: Woman recognized Gianni Hamilton as fellow VIA bus rider
SAN ANTONIO - Gianni Hamilton, 25, a convicted sex offender, is accused of sexually assaulting another woman whom he followed from a VIA bus last month.
The woman reported the crime to Alamo Heights police on Dec. 16, saying she was fondled by a stranger after she got off a bus at Broadway and Terrell Road, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
She also told police she remembered seeing the suspect on the bus, the affidavit stated.
Police said they obtained surveillance video from the bus, and put out a bulletin to other agencies, asking for help in identifying the suspect.
The affidavit stated that a probation officer recognized and identified Hamilton from the pictures.
The woman also was able to pick out Hamilton in a photo lineup, the affidavit stated.
The Texas Department of Public Safety’s Sex Offender Registry shows Hamilton is on probation already from a 2011 sexual assault involving a 35-year-old woman.
The registry showed Hamilton is required to register as a sex offender annually for the rest of his life.
