AMBER ALERT: 3 kids taken from Somerset Elementary

Gran­dmother considered suspect in abduction


An AMBER Alert was issued late Thursday for three children believed to have been taken from Somerset Elementary School by their grandmother.

A school district spokesperson said a court order bars the grandmother from being near the children.

The grandmother, identified as 64-year-old Elida Leal, is believed to be in a 2004 Maroon KIA Spectra. The license plate is BBV744.

The latest information on the children:

  • Jose Olvera, 9-years-old: last seen wearing a green sweater, black shirt, dark jeans and white shoes
  • Juan Garcia, 8-years-old: last seen wearing a black jacket with a hoodie, green sweater, yellow striped shirt, light blue jeans and black-red shoes
  • Annaliza Garcia, 7-years-old: last seen wearing a jacket, vest, sweater with a hoodie, green blouse, ripped blue jeans and brown boots.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts should call authorities.
