Navarro Academy student sought in school stabbing
1 student taken to hospital with minor injuries
SAN ANTONIO - A school fight on the campus of Navarro Academy caused the school to go into lockdown for short time Tuesday.
Leslie Price, spokeswoman for the San Antonio Independent School District District, said it started as an altercation between two students in a campus restroom Tuesday morning.
One student stabbed the other with an unknown object and fled, causing a brief campus-wide lockdown.
The injured 17-year-old student was taken to University Hospital with three puncture wounds, but is expected to be OK.
"This really was between two students. No other students were harmed or injured," Price said. "We did go into lockdown primarily because this was during lunch period and passing period, and we had a lot of students out and we wanted everyone to stay inside the campus."
Price said the lockdown was lifted just before 1pm on Tuesday.
It's unknown what, if any, charges the student who fled will face. Police are still looking for him to question him about the alleged incident.
