Flooding in Schertz, jackknifed rig on Loop 410 at Culebra cause major traffic delays

Flooding and a major accident caused some traffic nightmares for drivers across San Antonio Wednesday morning.

An 18-wheeler jackknifed around 4 a.m. on the northbound lanes of Northwest Loop 410 at Culebra.

Both north- and southbound lanes of the highway were shut down for more than two hours while officials cleared the scene.

The interstate reopened around 6:30 a.m. A cause for the accident was unknown and no injuries were reported.

Heavy rain forced the closure of Interstate 35 South at FM 3009 in the Schertz area.

Southbound traffic was diverted to the access road after a construction zone became flooded. The highway re-opened around 6 a.m. No injuries were reported.
