Donors replace stolen TVs for church

TVs stolen from Friendship Church last Sunday

A North Side church that was burglarized last Sunday was the recipient of a major blessing from one of its parishioners over the weekend.

Last Sunday, staff at Friendship Church in the 14000 block of San Pedro discovered burglars stole three flat screen TVs from the children's ministry.

Sr. Pastor Warren Cook sent a message to the congregation on Friday telling them to not be discouraged about the crime. Within a matter of minutes his inbox received a pair of generous offers, including one he could not refuse.

"Had another family that wrote us a note that said, 'I happen to have three brand new flat screen televisions in my office, and if you want them you can have them. If they're not exactly what you want we'll take care of it,'" Cook said.

Pastor Cook shared the news with the congregation Sunday and said the new TVs will be installed Friday. The other offer came from a first time visitor to the church.
