Man shot, killed outside south San Antonio home

San Antonio police believe multiple suspects involved

SAN ANTONIO - A man in his 30s was shot and killed shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday on the 900 block of Crystal Street.

San Antonio police said the man was approached by more than one person and fatally shot.

Multiple shots were fired, but police did not reveal how many times the victim was hit.

Police tell KSAT 12 News they do have witnesses to the shooting. No description of the persons involved was immediately available.

A church sits just across the street from the shooting. Members said they were shaken up when they arrived to Tuesday’s service to find the bloody scene.

“Nothing like that has ever happened before. We’re in a state of shock,” said church member, Santiago Hernandez. “I’m just glad it didn’t happen while church was going on because there’s no telling. The shooter could’ve run into the church.”

While officers were positioning their patrol cars to block off the murder scene, a silver car crashed into a police cruiser hitting the driver’s side door.

The officer inside the car was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Police have not released the identity of the man killed.
