Man killed by suspected drunken driver near downtown San Antonio

Cedrych Carrisalez, 19, knocked into building, died of injuries

A 30-year-old woman identified by San Antonio police as Amy Humphreys is facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter and possession of marijuana after she struck and killed Cedrych Carrisalez, 19, who was walking on a street north of downtown San Antonio.

San Antonio police said Humphreys was drunk at the time of the crash, which happened after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of N. St. Mary’s and Mulberry streets.

The force of the impact knocked Carrisalez into the wall of a building that houses a business called the Sign Station.

A police report indicated Humphreys continued west bound through the parking lot and collided with the parking lot curb and utility pole

Carrisalez was rushed to San Antonio Military Medical Center and died of his injuries later. Humphreys also had to be treated at a hospital after suffering a head injury.
