Couple found under home after police chase in west San Antonio

Couple suspected of robbing Family Dollar on North Zarzamora

SAN ANTONIO - A couple was arrested Wednesday night after leading San Antonio police on a car and foot chase on the West Side.

According to police, the male suspect robbed a Family Dollar in the 800 block of North Zarzamora.

Police said the suspect approached a clerk with something wrapped around his hand as if he was concealing a gun. The suspect fled in a red Chrysler Sebring.

An officer in the area matched the Sebring to a vehicle description from a separate incident and followed the car.

After a short chase, the couple ditched the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police helicopters were brought in to assist officers on the ground.

The couple was able to elude officers for about a half hour until the male suspect emerged from underneath a home in the 2900 block of Lombrano Street.

Officers in the area took the man into custody.

Search dogs spotted the female suspect, who was also hiding under the home, and took her into custody.
