3 minors suspected in East Side arsons

Suspects set fire to Young Vision Outreach Center Church school bus, vacant homes

Three juveniles have been identified as suspects in three arson cases on the city's East Side.

According to a San Antonio Fire Department news release, one of the minors set fire to a Young Vision Outreach Center Church school bus at 805 Denver Boulevard on Jan. 28. The suspect is in custody.

The other two suspects set fire to vacant homes at 211 Cooper Street and at 1801 Virginia on Jan. 30, the release stated. Child Protective Services has been asked to get involved in the cases involving the pair.

Since the suspects are minors, fire officials are not allowed to release their names and ages.

Investigators don't believe the trio is connected to other recent arsons on the East Side, the release stated.

The SAFD Arson Bureau will work with the Bexar County District Attorney's Office to pursue charges against the suspects.
