Kirby man found dead in home

David Wilk’s death suspicious, say police

It may be an accident. It may be murder. Or it may be something in between.

That is what the chief of police in the Northeast Bexar County community of Kirby said Monday afternoon.

The body of David Wilk was found in his Kirby home on Sunday. His mother made the discovery after she went to Wilk’s home when he did not answer phone calls or texts.

“It’s looking like a suspicious death and we always classify everything as a homicide until we prove that it was accidental otherwise,” said Kirby police Chief Kevin Bois.

He said there were no signs of foul play or unauthorized entry to the home.

Wilk’s wife, who was at work when her husband’s body was found, was questioned, as were other relatives.

Bois said that at this point, no one is considered a suspect. He is trying to locate friends who were with Wilk at some point prior to his death.

Texas Rangers have been called to assist the Kirby Police Department in the probe.

Bois said that they are awaiting an autopsy report which he hopes will give them some direction in the investigation.
