DWI suspect slams into building, causes gas leak in west San Antonio
CPS Energy crews repaired leak at Casino Bar on Poplar Street
SAN ANTONIO - A suspected drunken driver crashed into the side of a west San Antonio building early Wednesday morning and caused a gas leak, San Antonio police said.
Officers said the driver was speeding on Interstate 10 and exited Colorado Street. He then turned on Poplar and struck some railroad tracks.
He lost control of the vehicle, spun around and crashed into the Casino Bar.
Police said the impact of the crash knocked out a window, bricks on the building and a gas meter.
CPS Energy crews repaired the gas leak around 6:30 a.m. The 25-year-old driver was arrested, and charged with driving while intoxicated and evading arrest, police said.
