2 injured after motorcycle sideswipes SUV near downtown San Antonio

Motorcyclist, passenger suffer leg injuries

A motorcyclist and his passenger were hospitalized after they were involved in an accident with an SUV late Sunday night in downtown San Antonio.

Police say the motorcyclist was following another motorcycle on Interstate 35 near McCullough when he sped onto an entrance ramp and attempted to merge in front of the SUV.

The motorcyclist sideswiped the SUV and lost control. Police said the rider and passenger both stuck their leg on the pavement to regain balance, but one suffered a broken foot and the other a broken ankle.

The motorcyclist was also ticketed for improper lane change. The SUV driver was not hurt or ticketed.
