Police have caught up with a man accused of ramming an officer’s patrol car and fleeing the scene.
Marcus Hills, 20, was taken into custody Tuesday on several charges including aggravated assault on a public servant and evading arrest.
A San Antonio police officer had identified Hills immediately after the March 2 incident, according to arrest warrant affidavit.
The affidavit stated that police attempted to stop a driver after he ran a red light near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Lone Oak Street.
He said the driver appeared to stop briefly, but then suddenly backed up, ramming his patrol car, the affidavit stated.
The officer, who was getting out of his car at the time, suffered bruises and complained of body pain, the affidavit stated.
The officer later wrote in his report that the recognized the driver as Hills, someone who he had encountered several times in the past. A warrant was issued for Hills’ arrest about a week later.
