Fifth arrest made in series of home invasions in northeast Bexar County

Police: Courtney Smith, 19, indentified by other suspect

Courtney Smith, 19, has been identified as the suspect who got away from police after a series of home invasions on the Northeast Side.

Converse police made the initial arrests in February, taking four men into custody at the time.

They were following up on information about a car seen leaving the scene of one of the home invasions when they located the vehicle parked outside a home.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that a group of men ran out of the home after noticing police.

Officers caught and arrested four of them.  However, one suspect got away.

Live Oak police said they interviewed one of the men in custody who identified Smith as the person who escaped.

The group is accused of committing at least four home invasions in Live Oak and Universal City.

Smith is charged with aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery in connection with a home invasion in Live Oak.
