Suspected marijuana grow-house busted in Selma

Bexar Waste employees tipped off police after stopping at house Thursday

Selma police officers spent their afternoon Thursday clearing out the contents of a suspected marijuana grow-house just west of Retama Park.

Sanitation workers with Bexar Waste first alerted officers to the house on the 7700 block of Saddle Run this afternoon. It wasn’t immediately clear how the workers discovered the contents of the home.

“It’s surprising that someone would possibly have the gumption and audacity to have a grow-house in Selma, Texas,” said Jason Perez, a neighbor who lives a few doors down from the suspected grow-house.

KSAT is withholding that man’s name, however, as police have yet to identify any suspects in the case.

Selma Police would not comment on the case at the scene, and said any relevant information would be posted on the city of Selma’s website.
