Shoes, yoga pants, light bulbs recalled

CPSC, companies recalling several products

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued several recalls, for products ranging from household goods, to clothing items.

Two brands of shoes are being recalled, both due to fall hazards.

The first is Stuart Weitzman Girls’ Cha Cha Boots, which has a zipper that can become entangled. The second is White House Black Market’s “Versailles” and “Lourdes” model high-heeled shoes, which are said to become unstable and can cause falling.

Another item on the recall list is LED light bulbs by Lighting Science Group, which can overheat during use.

The bulbs were marketed under the brand names Definity, EcoSmart, Sylvania, and Westinghouse, and were produced during the 40th week of 2010. Customers can check the base of the bulb to see where the date code is printed.

As for toys, parents are asked to discontinue use of the Toys R Us Imaginarium Activity Walker.  The company has received five reports of the front wheels detaching, which can cause a choking hazard.  No injuries have been reported.

In addition, The Pampered Chef is recalling about 286,000 garlic slicers with product numbers 1113 and 2578, after 23 reports of blades detaching, which can cause lacerations.

Finally, the popular women’s athletic clothier Lululemon is recalling it’s “Luon” yoga pants, because the combination of nylon and lycra is see-through.

In all cases, customers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact the respective company for a refund or replacement product.
