High speed chase ends on Lackland Air Force Base

Suspect caught driving 90 miles per hour

SAN ANTONIO - Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies arrested one person Thursday night after he led officers on a high-speed chase that ended on Lackland Air Force Base.

According to a sheriff’s office spokesman, the chase began after 8:30 p.m. when deputies clocked the man going 90 miles per hour on Loop 1604 at IH 35 South.

The suspect then headed north on Loop 410.

During the chase, deputies said the suspect threw several packaged items from the speeding pick-up truck.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the content of the packages.

Officials are not sure how but after exiting Valley Hi Drive the suspect managed to get his vehicle into the Air Force base.

Deputies said the man hit at least one car while on the base. No one was injured.
