Equipment problem strands painters 50 feet up

Painting crew says cherry picker quit working

Frightening moments for painters after they got stuck 50 feet in the air.

The trouble happened before 5 a.m. Saturday at Grissom and Culebra.

Fire crews say the painters were on a cherry picker painting a sign in front of a CVS pharmacy when the equiptment failed.

The broken cherry picker stranded the painters high above the parking lot.

Fire crews were called out to help them down.

No one was injured.
