Gunfire wounds man on the eastside
Man claims drive-by shooters attacked him
A man is recovering after he was shot three times Friday night, and police are trying to determine just what happened.
They say just after 11 p.m. the victim showed up at the fire station in the 900 block of Gembler Rd.
He told police someone pulled up next to him near N. Walters and I-35 and opened fire.
But investigators say witnesses tell them the shots actually were fired near Green Valley and Wild Oak.
That's a couple of miles from where the victim says he was shot.
The man was taken to SAMMC in serious condition.
Police are still investigating.
