U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry say they detained a San Antonio man wanted for sexual assault.

Thursday morning, CBP officers said they were working at the Camino Real International Bridge inspected a 32-year-old man when he arrived at the pedestrian lane.

According to CBP officers, records checks revealed that Aaron Joseph Williams, 32, was wanted on an outstanding warrant issued in Bexar County for sexual assault.

Williams was turned over to the Maverick Country Sheriff's Office.

"The thorough and comprehensive inspections performed by our frontline CBP officers at the port of entry resulted in this significant apprehension," said Cynthia O. Rodriguez, CBP Port Director, Eagle Pass. "Homeland security is our primary mission but apprehensions like this help keep our communities safe."
