Detectives with the San Antonio Police Department arrested one man and recovered a late-model pickup and an assortment of stolen property Friday afternoon.

In the backyard of a home in at 615 Sterling, detectives found a truck that was in the process of being dismantled.

“This home was being used as a point where stolen vehicles were brought, dismantled and the parts were making their way onto the black market,” according to San Antonio police Sgt. Javier Salazar.

In addition to the truck, officers recovered a custom-made iron fence gate, the frame of a U-Haul trailer and the contents of a U-Haul truck that had been stolen a few weeks ago.

“The contents of that truck included an assortment of household goods, including mattresses and a television set,” Salazar said.

He said a 29-year-old man was arrested and will be facing theft charges.

“At this point, just one person is in custody, but we’re certainly not ruling out the possibility that there will be others arrested at a later date,” he said.

That man's name has not been released.
