San Antonio hospital nurse accused of using patient’s credit card

Hilton Ferguson charged with credit card abuse

SAN ANTONIO - Hilton Ferguson, a nurse in the intensive care unit of Northeast Baptist Hospital, has been arrested for allegedly using a patient’s credit card without her permission.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that the 72-year-old woman filed a report with police last month, saying that someone had used her credit card to purchase about $250 worth of items from a clothing store in Live Oak.

The woman told police she was in the hospital during the time of the transaction, the affidavit stated.

San Antonio police detectives obtained video of the transaction and showed it to the victim who identified the man in it as her former nurse, the affidavit stated.

She told detectives Ferguson had treated her one day while she was in ICU at Northeast Baptist Hospital, the affidavit stated.

Police said the credit card purchase was made the following day.

According to the affidavit, detectives also showed the surveillance video to three hospital employees who all confirmed Ferguson is the man in the images.

Ferguson was arrested Tuesday on charges of credit card abuse and exploitation of the elderly.
