North Star Mall security guard accused of stealing from store

San Antonio police: Arthur Manzanedo still in uniform when caught on camera

North Star Mall security guard Arthur Manzanedo, 38, is accused of stealing from one of the stores he was hired to protect.

Manzanedo was still in uniform when he was allegedly caught on camera last Friday morning, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

San Antonio police detectives were conducting undercover surveillance at the mall when they saw four people enter the Aeropostale store around 2:40 a.m., the affidavit stated.

They said the suspected thieves were caught on camera, loading items from the store into a trash bin.

One of the men in the video, seen taking items from the shelves and holding the door open for the others, is wearing a security guard uniform, the affidavit stated.

Police showed the video to the mall’s chief of security who identified the man in uniform as Manzanedo, the affidavit stated.

Manzanedo was arrested Tuesday on a burglary charge. The affidavit did not mention whether police have identified or arrested any of the other people in the video.
