Suspected drunken driver crashes into northwest San Antonio home

Witness: House on Agarita Avenue hit twice before

A man suspected of driving drunk and leading a deputy constable on a brief chase has been arrested after his truck slammed into the front of a northwest San Antonio home.

Officers at the scene said he faces charges that include driving while intoxicated and evading arrest.

They said the deputy constable attempted to stop the driver for speeding after 12:30 a.m. Friday on Interstate 10 near Vance Jackson.

Instead of stopping, the driver continued on, finally exiting the highway at Woodlawn Avenue, police said.

The man then lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slam into the front of a home in the 1300 block of Agarita, police said.

The driver was treated at the scene for injuries. No one inside the home was hurt, police said.

According to a witness at the scene, the home, which sits along the I-10 access road, has been hit twice before by out of control vehicles.
