Overturned big rig on Loop 1604/I-10 causes traffic tie-up

Truck loses load of chemicals, forces lane closure

SAN ANTONIO - An overturned big rig caused a mess at Interstate 10 East and Loop 1604 South on Thursday morning.

Police said the driver of the 18-wheeler was making a left turn onto 1604 from I-10 when his truck turned on its side under the I-10 bridge.

Police said his load of chemicals used in the oil fields was not properly secured. The chemicals were not considered to be hazardous.

Oil and transmission fluid spilled from the rig and all the southbound lanes of 1604 had to be shut down.
The driver was not hurt.
