Cold front due late tonight

Much colder Thursday with record cold Friday, Saturday mornings

After what should be a warm day on Wednesday, a cold front expected to blow through early Thursday morning could usher in record lows for Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings.

The front is expected to move across South Central Texas late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.

North winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph will develop on Thursday, and a wind advisory will likely be issued for all or part of South Central Texas.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the 50s and possibly upper 40s by late in the day on Thursday.

Prior to the cold front, a cluster of showers and thunderstorms will move across South Central Texas late Wednesday evening into the overnight hours.

Record or near-record low temperatures are expected Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4. Record lows for the month of May will also likely be broken or approached.

The current low-temperature records for San Antonio on May 3 and May 4 are 47 in 2011 and 44 in 1954.
