San Antonio sets record for low temperature
Low of 45 degrees marks coldest on May 3
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio set a record Friday for the lowest temperature in history for May 3.
As of 9 a.m., a low of 45 degrees was recorded at San Antonio International Airport.
The previous record for the day was 47 degrees in 2011.
If you thought Friday was cold, Saturday promises to be even colder.
KSAT 12 meteorologist Mike Osterhage said another temperature low should be shattered Saturday, when he predicts a low of 43 degrees.
If that happens, not only would it be a record low temperature for May 4 but for the entire month of May.
The low temperature will remain chilly Sunday, with a low of 49 degrees expected, but that isn't a record low.
Clear sunny skies are expected to warm things up nicely in the afternoon, with highs expected to be in the high 60s on Friday and in the high 70s on Saturday and in the low 80s on Sunday.
