City of Kirby honors road rage homicide victim
Family joins in memorial walk form Erik Mendoza
Erik Mendoza played football, baseball and he wrestled. He worked at Frito Lay warehouse to raise money for his education. And in October 2010 someone shot and killed him.
Since the apparent road rage killing Mendoza's family has searched for answers.
Saturday morning they gathered with others for a walk to remember Mendoza and honor all victims of road rage.
The city of Kirby sponsored the event. Mendoza lived nearby and had been involved in Kirby youth sports.
The city says the walk was a memorial to Erik Mendoza, and to raise awareness of road rage for Mendoza's family and all families of road rage victims.
The family says police are still looking for whoever fired the fatal shots at Erik.
