Man crossing street during rush hour struck by SUV

Man stuck by SUV on Naco­gdoches Road; Driver not facing charges


SAN ANTONIO - A man crossing the street was hospitalized after he was struck by an SUV in northeast San Antonio Tuesday evening.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. in the 15700 block of Nacogdoches Road.

According to San Antonio police, the 49-year-old man was trying to cross during rush hour traffic when he was struck by the vehicle.

He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in unknown condition. Police say the driver and a witness stopped to render aid.

It was unknown why the man attempted to cross the street. Police believe he was homeless and said the driver is not expected to be charged or ticketed.
