San Antonio police arrest Radio Shack robbery suspect

Joel Rios, 19, accused of armed robbery at Radio Shack on De Zavala Road

SAN ANTONIO - A man was arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a northwest San Antonio Radio Shack. Joel Rios, 19, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon at his home.

Police said Rios is accused of walking into the Radio Shack in the 5300 block of De Zavala Road and stealing an iPhone and tablet at gunpoint on Tuesday.

Police said he fled in a getaway car driven by another suspect. SAPD detectives say the car is what led them to Rios.

"We were able to execute a search warrant on that vehicle and we were able to get leads that us to the suspect that we ultimately arrested, which was Joel Rios," said
Sandy Gutierrez with the San Antonio Police Department.

Rios was charged with aggravated robbery. Police said the suspected getaway driver has not been located.
