Burglary suspects caught, stolen goods returned
Police recover stolen goods from numerous car burglaries
SAN ANTONIO - It took police officers in the air and on the ground to catch burglary suspects in two stolen vehicles Sunday morning.
Police said they found a black Hummer in the 5300 block of Fredricksburg.
The Hummer had a number of stolen goods inside, including Sam Smith's belongings.
"The boots alone were $900 and the jacket was a $150, so that right there's over $1000," said burglary victim Sam Smith.
San Antonio police believe Smith and three others on the north side had their vehicles broken into Saturday night by two burglars.
Officers said after they piled most of the stolen goods in the Humvee, the second suspect took off in another vehicle. The man inside was caught because the car had problems.
"It had transmission problems so it broke down," said San Antonio police officer James Lint. "The suspect had to pull over to the side of the road."
Inside both stolen vehicles, police recovered various items including a hand gun and several electronics.
The names of the suspects have yet to be released by police, but both could be looking at charges of burglary and theft of a vehicle.
