SAN ANTONIO - UTSA's Class of 2013, its biggest yet with 4,400 graduates, moved its commencement exercises to the Alamodome.

Instead of five or six ceremonies at its convocation center, each with a few hundred graduates, Joe Izbrand, UTSA spokesman, said this year, two ceremonies were planned for Monday.

He said up until this year, students were limited to four passes for family and friends.

Izbrand said now they can invite as many guests as they wish, generating an estimated total  of 40,000 attendees.

But as a result, traffic around the Alamodome was congested.

"It's stressful. So much traffic. I'm really, really late," said one graduate as she ran inside.

The university had advised graduates to arrive 90 minutes early.

Izbrand said the university will evaluate its first commencement at the Alamodome and make any necessary changes for the Class of 2014.
