HOUSTON - The baby who was found abandoned in a plastic bag outside of an apartment complex in northwest Harris County will soon be adopted.

A judge ruled Wednesday to terminate the rights of “Baby Chloe’s” biological parents.

The baby was found outside the Stonegate Villas Apartments on Grant Road near Jones Road in Cypress on the evening of Feb. 19. She was then taken to Texas Children's Hospital for care.

Doctors said she may have been born prematurely because she only weighed four pounds when she was found.

Chloe was placed in Child Protective Services custody, who then found a foster home for her.

In court on Wednesday, CPS said a family is interested in adopting Chloe.

Even though their rights were terminated, officials still want to find Chloe's natural parents. CPS officials said they would like to get Chloe's medical history to pass along to her adoptive parents.

Harris County sheriff's deputies also want to find the natural parents as they could face criminal charges.
