SA Pets Alive! shelter flooded
Rescue group looking for fosters
SAN ANTONIO - Saturday storms left San Antonio Pets Alive! flooded. Now, the rescue group is looking for temporary foster homes for at least 20 dogs.
A press release said the adult dogs weigh between 30-70 pounds, are spayed, neutered, de-wormed, vaccinated and up to date on flea and tick preventatives. The dogs are also available for adoption.
"The bigger adult dogs in these kennels happen to be the ones that need adopters more than any other group in San Antonio because people generally want puppies instead of adults. They get passed over day after day. If anyone has thought about adopting a dog that really needs a home, now is the time to do it," Dr. Ellen Jefferson, executive director of the rescue group, said.
SA Pets Alive! is also asking for foster homes for kittens aged 2-8 weeks. They also need chew toys and treats for dogs and assorted kitten supplies.
