Tip leads investigators to chop shop at home
Police take 1 suspect into custody
SAN ANTONIO - A tip has led investigators to a suspect in two stolen vehicle cases and the discovery of numerous stolen parts.
Officers found the alleged chop shop in the 190 block of Morning Valley Drive, near the Southwest Loop 410, on Tuesday morning.
They had been investigating the disappearance of the first vehicle, when they found the second vehicle and the stolen parts.
"They received information, so they followed up, and did surveillance. It was diligent work on their part," said San Antonio police Officer Roger Zuniga.
A man identified Tuesday afternoon as Raymond James Lindgren, 35, was taken into custody.
He's being held on a charge of vehicle theft, $20,000 - $100,000, and a charge of vehicle theft, $1500 to $20,000, with bonds totaling $25,000.
They said there were other people in the home at the time, but no one else was arrested.
Detectives are still going through the stolen parts.
