Tow truck driver injured in crash at DWI arrest site

Police say woman who crashed into the driver also driving drunk

SAN ANTONIO - A tow truck driver is in serious condition after a crash involving a suspected drunk driver.

Police say that crash happened while the tow truck driver was assisting an officer who'd made another DWI arrest.

Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday tow truck driver Michael Parten was on a tow call with an officer at a DWI arrest scene near Loop 410 and Perrin Beitel.

Police say a second drunk driver, 22 year-old Amanda Ozuna slammed into the patrol car from behind, pinning Parten between the car and a wall.

EMS transported him to SAMMC in serious condition.

They say he has a severely damaged leg, possible internal injuries and lacerations to his head and arm.

Police say Ozuna will be charged with intoxication assault.
