Suspect gives victim his number after sexual assault
Detectives used phone number to identify Roderick Dotson Jr.
SAN ANTONIO - A suspect identified as Roderick Dotson Jr. is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl, then giving her his phone number, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
The affidavit stated that the girl reported the incident to Bexar County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday, saying that she met Dotson while walking near a Dollar General store on Walzem Road.
She told investigators that Dotson told her he goes by the name “Rob” and that claimed to be 16-years-old.
She said after she told him she was just 14, Dotson pulled her by her hair to a field behind a home and sexually assaulted her, the affidavit stated.
After the alleged assault had ended, she said Dotson “made her” get a pen and paper so she could write down his phone number, the affidavit stated.
Sheriff’s investigators said they did some research and found that Dotson had called that number, himself, during a previous stay in jail, the affidavit stated.
Detectives said they put Dotson’s picture into a photo lineup and the girl identified him, the affidavit stated.
