Police catch, arrest suspects on the run from officers

PD says pair sped away after officers confronted them

Two suspects' wild run from police ended when they crashed their truck and tried to escape on foot.

Officers caught those suspects after a short chase at Loop 410 access road and Jackson-Keller.

The trouble started just before 11 a.m. Saturday.

The owner of a red Corvette called police to report two men looking into his car at the Academy store at Vance Jackson and 410.

When police arrived they confronted the men.

They say the pair then jumped into a pick-up, sped away and ran a red light.

Officers started to followed.

Police say the suspects left the roadway and tried to drive into a green space near Jackson-Keller, but crashed their truck.

When they got out to run officers began chasing them.

They searched on the ground and with the police chopper.

After about 10 minutes they spotted and arrested both suspects.

Police say they expect to charge the suspect driving with evading arrest in a vehicle, and evading arrest.

The other suspect is also expected to face evading arrest charges.
