Mega hiring spree underway in San Antonio
Amazon, Walmart, Red Ventures all hiring full time jobs in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO - From a huge new Walmart to a new million-square-foot Amazon fulfillment center and more, it’s a good time to be looking for a job in San Antonio.
Companies are looking for help, and some feel it’s a job hunter’s market.
Matt Berkshire has been looking for a job that fits him, not just the other way around.
He just started at Red Ventures on Monday.
Berkshire said of his decision, “People are very friendly. It's different from any other environment I've ever been in personally."
Intermingled with the high-intensity sales calls he’ll be making, there’s basketball and video game breaks, and even ping pong tournaments.
It’s part of how employers are selling a culture as part of the benefits package.
Red Ventures will be launching a new job fair this month, and it’s hoping to compete with the new Walmart and Amazon.
Alysa Marshall, a corporate sales recruiter, says, "You bring fun to the environment. It is a high-stress job. You are going to be dealing with customers that may not want to buy a product today, but there is a 100 percent sales role, so we have to add fun into the mix."
As for the financial side of luring employees, stock grants and a 30 percent higher than average fulfillment center pay is how Amazon hopes to compete.

Walmart also has a website at walmartcareerswithamission.com. It is offering qualified veterans who were honorably discharged within the last 12 months a guaranteed job offer as part of its Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment.
It’s also offering a 401K with matching contributions of up to 6 percent of pay.
Red Ventures encourages applicants to register for interview day at www.redventures.com. It is looking to hire 40 inside sales professionals over the next month.
