Motorcyclist killed in crash with SUV in northwest San Antonio

SAPD: Motorcyclist struck SUV at intersection of Guilbeau and Bandera roads

SAN ANTONIO - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with an SUV in Northwest San Antonio late Tuesday night.

San Antonio police said the motorcyclist was near the intersection of Guilbeau and Bandera roads when he struck an SUV making a left turn at the light.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and died at the scene, police said.

Officers found a helmet on the ground, however, it was unclear whether the motorcyclist was wearing it at the time of the crash.

San Antonio police said the crash remains under investigation and have not filed charges.

Officers believe one of the drivers ran a red light, but were unable to determine who it was.

Police said the motorcyclist was in his 50s. His name had not been released as of 6 a.m. Wednesday. No other injuries were reported.
