Craigslist post leads to thousands of dollars of allegedly stolen property

23-year-old man facing charges after sting operation

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Police officers conducted a sting operation Saturday that resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old Southside man and the discovery of thousands of dollars worth of allegedly stolen property.

Steven Saucedo is facing possession of stolen property charges after police said he tried to sell an undercover officer stolen pool cues.

According to law enforcement officials, a man called police on Friday after he said he saw a Craigslist Post advertising custom pool cues.

The man told police the cues were his and were stolen from his car on July 4.

Police called the number associated with the ad and set up a sting operation Saturday morning.

Saucedo was taken into custody. Meanwhile, police obtained a search warrant for the home he lived in in the 500 block of Aaron Place.

There police found dozens of allegedly stolen items including cellphones, digital cameras, military equipment, credit cards, gifts cards, and a flare gun.

Police estimate the costs of the items to be between $15 and $20 thousand dollars.

Investigators believe there are multiple victims, but so far they've only been able to match a purse and credit cards to one person.
